Norman,

You can rest easy because the hack used in the PWN2OWN contest was patched yesterday or the day before. Also, many articles covering the contest are a bit misleading because of their lack of detail. AFAIK, the hack used against the Macbook Air wasn't anything Safari specific (web browsers on the other machines were venerable to it as well), but the same hack can't be used twice so since it was used on the MBA first no one else could use it against the other machines.

Hmmm, good point. I had completely forgotten about people owning both platforms. Which is stupid, because I do as well.

Of course, I didn't mean to imply that PC users weren't tech savvy. What I should said was that many of the people searching for "cell phones" were probably PC users, because of the preponderance of PC users in my stats. And that those users were probably not the tech savvy users of the bunch.

Sorry. I came across as both simplistic and, well, silly myself.

Norman, I am a recent regular reader of your blog and I use both a Mac and PC to view your blog (depending on if I was recently writing to editing, or what time of day/night it is). I run Firefox on both, and was a "savvy" computer person long before I started working on a Mac.

Love the CNet article link. Thanks!
